The national philanthropy of Zeta Tau Alpha is Breast Cancer Education and
Awareness. Our philanthropy is very near and dear to our hearts. We strive to
bring awareness to men and women in our community and educate them on
the risks of breast cancer. With each Zeta Tau Alpha fundraising event, every
pink lid, and each step in the race, we are just a little closer to finding a cure.

...to prepare for service and learn the nobility of serving, thereby earning the
right to be served. ~The Creed of Zeta Tau Alpha
Yoplait Save Lids to Save Lives

Zeta Tau Alpha has teamed up with Yoplait to Save Lids to Save Lives. For
each pink lid collected, Yoplait will donate 10 cents to the Susan G. Komen
for the Cure and an additional 5 cents to the ZTA Foundation. Last year,
Zetas across the country collected a total of 212,522 pink lids.
           Cleveland Browns

In September and October, Zetas all over the
United States team up with the National
Football League to increase awareness of breast
cancer at professional football games. Our
partners in this event are the Cleveland Browns.
We attend one game every year and pass out
over 30,000 pink ribbons to fans, employees,
and the football players themselves.

             Pink Ribbon Dance Showcase

Our annual fundraiser, the Pink Ribbon Dance Showcase, raises
money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. Local high
school and college dance teams and studios perform for the
community. We raise money with this event through registration
fees, concessions, apparel sales, a silent auction, cheer-o-grams,
carnation sales, ticket sales, and ad purchases in the program. While
the event is not a competition, there are still many fun awards to be
won, such as our "Most Entertaining" award. The most special award
is our "Biggest Donor" award, where we award the team contributing
the most money to our philanthropy. This past year, we raised over
$4,000. If you are interested in the 4th Annual Pink Ribbon Dance
Showcase, please send an e-mail to pinkribbondance@yahoo.com.
         Service Projects

Our chapter participates in various other service projects
in the community. This includes Alternative Spring
Break Trips, Habitat for Humanity, and Berea Service
Day. We have volunteered for the Family Life Center and
collected food donations for the Cleveland Food Bank.
Each new member class also completes a service project
of their choosing with the help of the entire chapter. We
cleaned a local church during Berea Service Day in the
Spring. This year, we will be volunteering at the
Cleveland Autism Walk, along with many other service
events in the area!
        Think Pink Week

On Baldwin-Wallace's campus, Zeta Tau Alpha
reserves one week for THINK PINK! week. We
take this opportunity to get the word out about our
philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and
Awareness. During this week, you can find the
sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha passing out pink ribbons
and handing out informational cards in the Union.
We also pass out shower cards throughout the
dorms that include steps to a proper breast
self-exam. This year, THINK PINK! week will be
starting on October 19, 2009.
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Each year our sisters head to Cleveland and volunteer
at Race for the Cure. Our sisters volunteer during the
Survivor ceremony, help with registration, and also
run in the Race. This year, the race will be held on
Saturday, September 12, 2009. For information on this
event, click on the Komen for the Cure logo!
